What are cookies?

Cookies are small pieces of data that a website or app stores on your device when you visit or use it. They help things work properly, let us understand how our Service is used, and — where you have given consent — support our marketing.

Some of the technologies described on this page store nothing on your device at all. We describe them here too, so you can see the full picture.

This page explains how Shushko uses cookies and similar technologies (such as local storage) across our Website (shushko.com), our Platform (app.shushko.com), and the Host Sites our customers run using Shushko. Capitalized terms used but not defined on this page have the meaning given to them in our Privacy policy, which also explains how we handle personal data generally.

Categories of cookies we use

These are the names you will see in the cookie settings panel on our Website and in the Platform.

Functional — Required for the Website and Platform to function, for example keeping you signed in, remembering your session, remembering the language you chose, holding your place while you complete a sign-in or an account change, keeping the Service secure, and remembering a live chat conversation you have started. These cannot be switched off, as the Service would not work properly without them, and no consent is required for their use. Some are removed when you close your browser. Cookies last up to one year. Items we keep in your browser’s local storage stay until you or your browser clear them.

Statistics — Help us understand how the Website and Platform are used, so we can improve them, for example which pages are visited and how the Service performs. In the Platform this also includes recordings of how you moved through the pages. Used only with your consent, which you can give or withdraw at any time. They last up to two years.

Marketing — Used to measure how well our marketing campaigns perform and to build audiences for our own advertising. Used only with your consent, which you can give or withdraw at any time. They last up to three months.

Managing your preferences

You can accept, decline, or customize your cookie preferences at any time using the cookie banner and settings on our Website and in the Platform. You can also manage or block cookies through your browser settings — though blocking strictly necessary cookies may affect how the Website and Platform function.

Third parties

Some cookies and similar technologies on our Website and Platform are set by providers who help us operate, analyze, and market the Service:

• tawk.to — live chat. Its cookies allow a conversation to continue as you move between pages and when you return later. They are only set if you open the chat. See tawk.to’s privacy policy.
• Google — website statistics, through Google Analytics, set only if you agree to statistics cookies; sign-in with Google, set only if you choose to sign in that way; and maps and address lookup, loaded only if you agree to them in the cookie settings. See Google’s privacy policy.
• Amplitude — product statistics for the Platform, including recordings of how you moved through the pages. Set only if you agree to statistics cookies. Amplitude processes this data in the European Union. See Amplitude’s privacy policy.
• Meta — advertising measurement, through the Meta Pixel. Set only if you agree to marketing cookies. See Meta’s cookie policy.

Each of these providers can read the cookies it sets. They process data only for the purposes described above, under contractual data protection terms.

Host sites

A Host Site is a booking website that one of our customers runs using Shushko. If you are visiting one, this section is the part that applies to you.

Visitor statistics. We count visits and page views on every Host Site, so the Host can see how their website is performing. This stores nothing on your device and reads nothing from it. We do not use it to recognize you on any other website, and we cannot use it to recognize you from one day to the next.

Booking. When you make a booking, we store what is needed to complete it and to keep it secure. This is functional and cannot be switched off.

Maps. Where a Host Site shows a map, the map is provided by Google. Google may store and read data on your device when the map loads. It loads only if you have agreed to it in that site’s cookie settings.

Anything else the Host adds. A Host can add their own statistics, advertising, or other tracking to their website. That is their choice and their responsibility, including any consent it requires — see Section 5(d) of our Terms of Service. Questions about it should go to the Host.

Who is responsible. The Host who runs the site is the data controller for it. They decide what their website does, and they are responsible for its compliance with data protection and e-privacy law, including the cookie notice shown on it and any consent it collects. Where we provide a feature on their site — such as the booking system, the visitor statistics, or a map — we do so on that Host’s instructions and act as their data processor. Changes to this page

We may update this page from time to time to reflect changes in the cookies and technologies we use. This page is published in English; where a translated version is provided, it is for convenience only, and the English version prevails in the event of any inconsistency.
